I am going to try to post something everyday this month...sort of a challenge to see if I can do it:).
Today I wanted to share our Christmas Countdown using library cards. Each card holds an activity that involves our whole family.
Here is a list of our activities:
Christmas Count Down 2012
1. Take silly Christmas pictures.
2. Share a funnel cake.
3. Sing “Happy Birthday” to S. Make homemade pizza.
4. Make hot chocolate with marshmallows, candy canes and whipped cream. Drink in Christmas mugs.
5. Eat a picnic dinner under the Christmas tree.
6. Go watch a Christmas play (Liberty Academy).
7. Make and decorate gingerbread houses.
8. Put together neighbor gifts and deliver.
9. Read a Christmas story from the basket.
10. Watch a new Christmas movie (Holiday Inn). Pop popcorn in the popper.
11. Cut out snowflakes and string in the schoolroom.
12. Make eggnog shakes or root beer floats.
13. Color pictures of Nativities or Baby Jesus.
14. Put on new Christmas pjs and drive around and look at lights and count Nativity displays. Put the pictures of the Nativities colored the night before in the mailboxes of those with Nativities. Write a thank you note on those pictures.
15. Sing Christmas songs with the piano.
16. Go watch another Christmas play (Youth Group).
17. Sing “Happy Birthday” to J. Paint wooden soldiers.
18. Make Christmas tags for our presents.
19. Make Peppermint Bark.
20. Take McDonald’s hot chocolate to a bellringer.
21. Read another Christmas story from the basket.
22. Act out the Christmas story with one of our Nativities. Film it with the phone and send it to relatives.
23. Bake sugar cookies.
24. Sing “Happy Birthday” to JM. Make homemade applesauce for his dinner.
25. Bake a birthday cake for Jesus and eat it for breakfast.
